This weeks vendor spotlight is all about Brian Bunn Films. What better way to learn about the man and the business than from the man himself?! Be sure to check out some of his videos here and here. After spending 15 years in the mining industry, I started looking at how grumpy allthe guys were that I worked with. It made me think... "there must be something else in lifeI can do besides this'.Although I disliked my job, I wanted to make sure my new career would be worth seeking out. So I went back to school thinking I would be a web developer. After graduation, I winded up doing some contract editing work for a very well known, local wedding videographer.Over a period of time, I started helping more... read more »

It's a big moment in anyone's life. You've been dating for a while and you know it... you just know it. The other person is the one. The one that you want to spend the rest of your life with. The one you want to grow old with. Now comes the hard part (besides picking out the ring): the proposal. Are you going to pop the question in a small, intimate setting? Or do you think a flash mob in Times Square is the way to go? Either way here are some ideas to get your mind thinking!Send your girlfriend on a treasure hunt. Start with a clue at home; then send her on a tour of your favorite spots all over town. When she gets to the last hint, the prize should be you on one knee. Write her a love note with the proposal at the end of it. Tuck it into her favorite book or the one she happens to be reading at the moment, and when she finds the note, surprise her with the ring.... read more »

Photo provided by Cake Lady JillWhen you
walk into a reception it's usually one of the first things that catches
your eye. From a display of cupcakes to a multi-tiered cake, no two
weddings are the same and no two wedding cakes are the same. Flavors,
design, floral arrangements... the combinations and possibilities are
endless. The most important part the cake plays at the wedding happens
when it's time to cut the cake. Cake cutting is one of the first task
the bride and groom perform
together after becoming officially wed. Traditionally, the bride holds
the knife and the groom places his hand over hers to "help" her cut the
first piece. Afterwards, the bride and groom often feed each other a
piece. These acts symbolize conquering tasks together, as well as
sharing or providing for one another through the marriage.Photo provided by Cake Lady JillWe are lucky to have so many amazing bakers and designers of wedding cakes here in Charlotte. One of them is Cake Lady Jill. For
over 12 years Cake Lady Jill, has designed and baked wedding cakes. They feature top quality ingredientsand completely... read more »

Something old, something new Something borrowed, something blue And a silver sixpence in her shoe.
Each item in this poem represents a good-luck token for the bride. If she carries all of them on her wedding day, her marriage will be happy. "Something old" symbolizes continuity with the bride's family and the past.A picture from your parent's wedding. The bride used her bonnet from her First Communion. From the grandmother "Something new" means optimism and hope for the bride's new life ahead.Who doesn't love a new dress?"Something borrowed" is usually an item from a happily married friend or family member, whose good fortune in marriage is supposed to carry over to the new bride. The borrowed item also reminds the bride that she can depend on her friends and family. What a wonderful idea - borrow jewelry to make your wedding bouquet!!
As for the colorful item, blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was a popular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true."LOVE this dress!! Something new & something blue in one!We love how these shoes have been modified for the wedding day.A stunning blue dress!!
And finally, a silver sixpence in the bride's shoe represents wealth and financial security. A sixpence is a coin that was minted in Britain from 1551 to 1967. It was made of silver and worth six pennies.... read more »
